Battery Road construction (3/3)

This photograph was taken from what we now think of as the Jubilee Pool end of Penzance Promenande, and it appears to show the building of the new Battery Road which opened in 1932. The houses on the left of the image were later demolished, making way for St Anthony's Gardens, built in 1933. In 1934 work began on the construction of the pool, changing the view shown on the right side of the image into something much more modern.
